วาจาว กิร เต อาสิ สณฺหา สขิลภาณิโน ติณมตฺเต อสชฺชิตฺโถ โน จ นิกฺขสตํ หรนฺติ ฯ กุหกชาตกํ นวมํ ฯ ---------
ได้ยินว่า วาจาของท่านผู้พูดคำอ่อนหวานเป็นวาจาไพเราะ ท่านข้องอยู่ เพราะหญ้าเพียงเส้นเดียว แต่นำเอาทอง ๑๐๐ ลิ่มไปไม่ขัดข้อง. จบ กุหกชาดกที่ ๙.
ถ้อยคำของท่านช่างไพเราะอ่อนหวานเสียนี่กระไร ท่านรังเกียจกระทั่งหญ้าเส้นเดียว แต่เมื่อขโมยทองคำไปตั้ง ๑๐๐ แท่ง กลับไม่รังเกียจเลยกุหกชาดกที่ ๙ จบ
