หอพักเอกชนขนาดกลางที่จะได้รับการประกาศเกียรติคุณอย่างน้อยต้องเป็นไป ตามหลักเกณฑ์ ดังต่อไปนี้
(๑) หลักเกณฑ์ตามข้อ ๓ (๑) (๒) (๓) (๔) (๕) (๖) (๗) (๘) (๙) (๑๐) และ (๑๑)
(๒) มีพื้นที่สำหรับให้บริการจอดยานพาหนะอย่างเป็นระเบียบและเพียงพอ
(๓) มีระบบการรักษาความปลอดภัยแก่ผู้พักตลอดยี่สิบสี่ชั่วโมง
(๔) มีการสนับสนุนให้มีชมรมหรือกิจกรรมสร้างสรรค์อันเป็นสาธารณประโยชน์
(๕) มีสถานที่สำหรับต้อนรับผู้เยี่ยมเยียนขนาดไม่น้อยกว่า ๒๐ ตารางเมตร แยกเป็นอีกส่วนหนึ่ง จากบริเวณพักอาศัย
