นอกจากการพ้นจากตำแหน่งตามวาระตามมาตรา ๙ ประธานกรรมการและ กรรมการผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิตามมาตรา ๘
(๔) พ้นจากตำแหน่งเมื่อ
(๑) ตายหรือมรณภาพ
(๒) ลาออก
(๓) พ้นจากความเป็นพระภิกษุ
(๔) สมเด็จพระสังฆราชมีพระบัญชาให้ออกโดยความเห็นชอบของมหาเถรสมาคม
(๕) เป็นบุคคลล้มละลายทุจริต
(๖) เป็นคนไร้ความสามารถหรือคนเสมือนไร้ความสามารถ
(๗) ถูกจำคุกโดยคำพิพากษาถึงที่สุดให้จำคุก
