ในกรณีที่เจ้าของหรือผู้ครอบครองอาคารที่ได้รับคำสั่งให้รื้อถอนหรือเคลื่อนย้าย ตามมาตรา ๕๗ ไม่สามารถจัดหาที่อยู่ของตนเองได้ ให้เจ้าหน้าที่ดำเนินการจัดหาที่อยู่ชั่วคราวที่เหมาะสม ให้อาศัยอยู่เป็นเวลาตามความจำเป็นแต่ไม่เกินหนึ่งปี ทั้งนี้ ในกรณีที่เห็นสมควรเจ้าหน้าที่ดำเนินการ จะผ่อนผันให้อาศัยอยู่ต่อไปอีกไม่เกินหกเดือนก็ได้
