ให้กรมพินิจและคุ้มครองเด็กและเยาวชนทำหน้าที่เป็นสำนักงานเลขานุการ ให้แก่คณะกรรมการ และประสานงานกับหน่วยงานของรัฐหรือองค์กรเอกชนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการพัฒนา พฤตินิสัยเด็กและเยาวชนที่เข้าสู่กระบวนการยุติธรรม การติดตามช่วยเหลือสงเคราะห์เด็กหรือ เยาวชนภายหลังปล่อย และการป้องกันการกระทำผิดของเด็กและเยาวชน รวมทั้งปฏิบัติงานอื่นใด ตามที่คณะกรรมการหรือคณะอนุกรรมการมอบหมาย
