นอกจากการพ้นจากตำแหน่งตามวาระตามมาตรา ๗ กรรมการผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ พ้นจากตำแหน่งเมื่อ
(๑) ตาย
(๒) ลาออก
(๓) ขาดคุณสมบัติหรือมีลักษณะต้องห้ามอย่างหนึ่งอย่างใดตามมาตรา ๖
(๔) คณะรัฐมนตรีให้ออกเพราะบกพร่อง หรือไม่สุจริตต่อหน้าที่ มีความประพฤติเสื่อมเสีย หรือหย่อนความสามารถ
