ในกรณีที่ผู้ต้องขังตาย ป่วยหนัก บาดเจ็บสาหัส วิกลจริต หรือจิตไม่ปกติ ให้ผู้บัญชาการเรือนจำแจ้งเรื่องดังกล่าวให้คู่สมรสของผู้ต้องขังนั้น ญาติ หรือบุคคลที่ผู้ต้องขังระบุไว้ทราบ โดยไม่ชักช้า
