เมื่อจะปล่อยตัวผู้ต้องขัง ให้ปฏิบัติดังต่อไปนี้
(๑) เรียกคืนทรัพย์สินที่เป็นของทางราชการ
(๒) จ่ายเครื่องแต่งกายให้ตามที่กรมราชทัณฑ์กำหนด สำหรับผู้ต้องขังที่ไม่มีเครื่องแต่งกาย จะแต่งออกไปจากเรือนจำ
(๓) ทำหลักฐานการปล่อยตัว
(๔) คืนทรัพย์สินของผู้ต้องขังให้แก่ผู้ต้องขัง รวมทั้งเงินรางวัลและเงินทำขวัญ
(๕) ออกใบสำคัญการปล่อยนักโทษเด็ดขาดที่พ้นโทษ
