ในระหว่างการขุดดิน ผู้ขุดดินตามมาตรา ๑๗ต้องระบายน้ำบนพื้นดินบริเวณขอบบ่อดิน ไม่ให้น้ำท่วมขังและต้องไม่ใช้พื้นที่บริเวณขอบบ่อดินเป็นที่กองดินหรือวัสดุอื่นใดในลักษณะที่อาจทำให้เกิด การพังทลายของดินหรืออาจเป็นอันตรายกับสิ่งปลูกสร้างในบริเวณนั้น
