ชั้นข้าราชการตำรวจ มีดังต่อไปนี้
(๑) ชั้นสัญญาบัตร ได้แก่ ผู้มียศตั้งแต่ร้อยตำรวจตรีขึ้นไป
(๒) ชั้นประทวน ได้แก่ ผู้มียศสิบตำรวจตรี สิบตำรวจโท สิบตำรวจเอก จ่าสิบตำรวจ และ ดาบตำรวจ หนา้ ๒๗ เลม่ ๑๓๙ ตอนที่ ๖๔ ก ๑๖ ตุลาคม ๒๕๖๕
(๓) ชั้นพลตำรวจ ได้แก่ พลตำรวจสำรอง พลตำรวจสำรอง คือ ผู้ที่ได้รับการบรรจุเป็นข้าราชการตำรวจ โดยได้รับการคัดเลือกหรือ สอบแข่งขันเข้ารับการศึกษาอบรมในสถานศึกษาของสำนักงานตำรวจแห่งชาติ
