ให้สำนักงานส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลมีผู้อำนวยการคนหนึ่ง ซึ่งคณะกรรมการ กำกับสำนักงานส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลแต่งตั้ง มีหน้าที่บริหารกิจการของสำนักงานส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัล ขึ้นตรงต่อคณะกรรมการกำกับสำนักงานส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัล และจะให้มีรองผู้อำนวยการเป็นผู้ช่วยสั่ง และปฏิบัติงานรองจากผู้อำนวยการก็ได้ การแต่งตั้งผู้อำนวยการตามวรรคหนึ่ง ให้เป็นไปตามหลักเกณฑ์และวิธีการสรรหาที่คณะกรรมการ กำกับสำนักงานส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลกำหนด
