ในอาทิตตสูตรที่ ๙ มีวินิจฉัยดังต่อไปนี้ :-
บทว่า อาทิตฺตํ ความว่า ร้อนนัก คือลุกโพลงด้วยไฟ ๑๑ อย่าง ในพระสูตรทั้งสองนี้ ตรัสทุกขลักษณะเท่านั้น.
