ในพระราชกำหนดนี้ “ภัยพิบัติ” หมายความว่า วาตภัย อุทกภัย ธรณีพิบัติภัย และภัยพิบัติอื่นตามที่รัฐมนตรี ประกาศกำหนด “กองทุน” หมายความว่า กองทุนส่งเสริมการประกันภัยพิบัติ “ผู้ประกอบธุรกิจประกันวินาศภัย” หมายความว่า บริษัทจำกัดหรือบริษัทมหาชนจำกัดที่ได้รับ ใบอนุญาตประกอบธุรกิจประกันวินาศภัยตามกฎหมายว่าด้วยการประกันวินาศภัย เล่ม ๑๒๙ ตอนที่ ๑๐ ก “คณะกรรมการ” หมายความว่า คณะกรรมการบริหารกองทุนส่งเสริมการประกันภัยพิบัติ “รัฐมนตรี” หมายความว่า รัฐมนตรีผู้รักษาการตามพระราชกำหนดนี้
