พึงทราบวินิจฉัยในกุมภสูตรที่ ๓ ดังต่อไปนี้ :-
บทว่า กุมฺภา คือ หม้อ. บทว่า ตุจฺโฉ ปิหิโต ได้แก่ หม้อเปล่าปิดปาก. บทว่า ปูโร วิวโฏ ได้แก่ หม้อเต็มน้ำ เปิดปาก.
แม้ในสองบทที่เหลือ ก็นัยนี้เหมือนกัน.
