พึงทราบวินิจฉัยในวัตถุสูตรที่ ๔ ต่อไป :-
บทว่า ปุตฺตา วตฺถู อธิบายว่า บุตรทั้งหลายชื่อว่าเป็นที่ตั้ง เพราะอรรถว่าปฏิบัติในเวลาที่มารดาบิดาเป็นคนแก่.
บทว่า ปรมา ความว่า ภรรยาชื่อว่าเป็นเพื่อนอย่างยิ่ง เพราะความที่ความลับแม้ตนไม่บอกบุคคลอื่น ก็ต้องบอกแก่ภรรยา ดังนี้แล.
