บทว่า ธมฺมิกญฺจ คิหิปฏิสฺสวํ ความว่า เมื่อคฤหัสถ์อาราธนาว่า ท่านอยู่เสียในที่นี้แหละตลอดไตรมาสนี้ ก็รับคำโดยนัยเป็นต้นว่า จงเป็นอย่างนั้นเถิด ชื่อว่าปฏิสวะรับคำ.
บทว่า น สจฺจาเปติ ได้แก่ ไม่กระทำคำสัตย์ คือกล่าวให้คลาดเคลื่อน.
